Eclipsa Video is the brand name of a quality compliance program specifically designed to ensure superior video playback on consumer electronics with display devices. The underlying technology is based on the SMPTE ST 2094-50 specification, and the initial program will launch for smartphones later this year.

While any smartphone is technically capable of utilizing SMPTE ST 2094-50 display rendering, the Eclipsa Video program is specifically reserved for mobile phones equipped with high-end display panels. To use the Eclipsa Video branding, a device must meet certain physical and software requirements, which will be published later this year.
